The purpose is to build up an attractive and sought-after residential, business and leisure complex. Multimedia Complex


The Multimedia Complex Project will be situated in the cadastre of the municipality of Bernolákovo, in the proximity of the busiest Slovak highway – D1, with a comfort and direct connection to the highways M4 (Hungary), D2 (Czech Republic) and D4, A6 (Austria). The access to the complex will lead through a highway exit.

The Project will cover an area of about 4 hectares and has the potential to become a new symbol of media and film in Slovakia. The excellent accessibility and high-quality architecture will strengthen the representativeness and functionality of the Project.

The Project includes administration, operating, production structures, film studios. The rooms will also serve to organize events and congresses. The Project has a large plain area for the creation in the exterior. The Project provides a wide room for further development. Complexity, openness and variability are the main features of the whole Project.

This Project will also represent a challenge and room for the application of the best knowledge, creativity, professionalism and effort of Slovak architects, engineers and constructors. It will represent a lighthouse of sustainable development, state-of-the-art technology in compliance with the ecological approach. A modern and supertemporal design, high quality of materials, emphasis on details, energy economy, and functionality without compromises are the main attributes of the Project.

URBANISM


Basic urban principles
a) Effectiveness
The Project as a whole as well as its individual structures will be effectively utilisable – costs, time, energies, transport, management of natural resources for both the construction and future usage are analysed, optimised and accepted prior to the construction commencement.
b) High-quality environment
The key values of the Project include – compliance with the nature, identification of valuable biotopes, esteem for the existing natural conditions, protection, renovation and construction of a new high-quality environment for the future users and visitors, landscape, water management, waste management, limitation of pollution during both the construction and usage.
c) Balanced and conflict free transport
The Multimedia Complex structures are excellently accessible – both individually and by mass transportation. There is no transit through the territory within the complex. The transport to the territory will not excessively disturb and hamper the users. The Multimedia Complex is intended for people; however, it will provide comfort and effective parking conditions.
d) Integration in the locality
The structures will represent a clear dominant of the territory and will be visible from a great distance and to a large number of passers-by. In the locality, there will be a production centre, multiple-function hall, production film studios, exteriors for film production and administration structures for agencies. The Project is in full compliance with the land-use planning scheme of the locality.

ARCHITECTURE


The film studios/atelier of creation are designed simply and expediently. The southern façade is set in the terrain. The northern façade serves for supplying and as the main entrance. The entrances to the production background rooms are located on this side, too. The structure has full walls lined with non-transparent system façade.
The atelier of creation is designed as two identical dilated mirror-positioned background structures, with a separate building with a central production area, around which   technical background rooms, make-up rooms, dressing rooms, offices, stores and technical background of the structure are located on four floors.

The building of the main structure of the Multimedia Complex as well as the surrounding build-up area is designed in a way as to be optimised in operating and functional terms. The main structure has a square ground plan. There is an internal atrium in the middle of it. The vertical staircases situated in the corners of the spatial arrangement minimise long movements of people and material. They ensure collision free movement of both employees and visitors.
The main structure offers a pleasant and attractive working environment to employees. It is created by the external “green” country, which smoothly passes to the internal atrium with water surface and footbridges. The horizontal transfer system is designed as barrier-free using ramps and bridges.

TRANSPORT SOLUTION


The territory, where the designed Project is located, has an above-standard transport connection. The structures in the Multimedia Complex will be only several minutes far from the town centre. The comfortable arrival to the territory will be ensured by the highway exit  with a newly designed intersection and road.
The area road representing the main entry way to the territory is connected to the above-mentioned road by a system of roundabouts. The roundabout in the northern direction from the main structure of the complex divides the transport to passenger and freight transport.
Freight transport continues in the forward direction and bypasses the area, which solves the collision free system of transport.
Passenger and mass transport enters the territory through the southern exit from the roundabout. The traffic beyond the roundabout is solved as single line traffic. In front of the main square, the transport divides into two directions.
The transport solution considers the connection of an urban mass transportation structure, whose planned stop will be situated directly in front of the area.
Freight transport will drive on the western side of the land to the supplying yard, which is situated between the main structure and the atelier of creation. Here, the service entrances for freight vehicles and outside-broadcasting vans are oriented.
Within the framework of the newly designed zone, the construction of a new regional (suburb) track is planned. The purpose of the suburb rail track is to provide for the passenger railway transport for safe and fast transportation of citizens on the network of the Railways of the Slovak Republic not only to the centre of Bratislava but also to other parts of the capital of the Slovak Republic, thus significantly limiting the share of car transport in this territory.

The Zone 4 is designed as logistic – retail zone. The property is situated in the immediate proximity of Bratislava, the capital city of the Slovak republic, on the main motorway D1, in direction from Bratislava to Trnava.

Science and research


The Triblavina Scientific Research Centre (SRC) Project will be situated in the cadastre of Bernolákovo municipality, in the immediate – southern neighbourhood of the D1 highway, with a comfort and direct connection through the D1 highway exit to the highways M4 (Hungary), D2 (Czech Republic) and D4, A6 (Austria). The access to the complex of the SRC premises will lead through a highway exit with roundabouts.

Triblavina Scientific Research Center


Intention and objectives of the SRC:

The first stage of the Project will cover an area of about 4 hectares and it has a strong ambition to become a new top symbol of the scientific research potential, the first one of its kind in Slovakia. The unique know-how in the research of neurodegenerative diseases, excellent Project’s accessibility within Slovakia as well as Europe and a high-quality, supertemporal architecture will intensify the functionality and representativeness of this modern Project in compliance with an ecological approach.

The SRC Project consists of four main structures:

  • “A” Main Structure Building
  • “B” Structure Building – Centre of Diagnostic Validation Platforms (CDVP)
  • “C” Structure Building – Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
  • “D” Structure Building – Certified Laboratory Workplaces (GMP)

All the structures are in mutual functional compliance with the logical interconnections and links. The building of “B“ Structure and the building of “A” Main Structure are interconnected by a functional neck.

Brief description:

The Project includes laboratory, office, research, conference and operating structures. The rooms will also serve to organize professional lectures, seminars as well as greater congresses or conferences. The Project has a large flexible room for scientific creation and provides a generally wide room for further development – expansion for further stages (the total territory of the Project of about 8.5 hectares with the possibility of further extension). Complexity and variability are the main features of the whole Project, including the emphasis on details, energy efficiency, and functionality without compromises in compliance with the state-of-the-art technology for scientific research purposes.

Triblavina Scientific Research Center


Basic urban principles:

The key values of the SRC Project include compliance with the nature, preservation of valuable biotopes in the existing natural conditions, protection, renovation and construction of a new high-quality environment for the future users and visitors, creation of functional landscape in close compliance with water management, waste management, maximum limitation of pollution during both the construction and usage.

Architecture:

A simple and at the same time, effective and rational architectonic form of SRC substantiation clearly and unambiguously reflects the covered function of the scientific research centre. Soft landscaping is designed in the surrounding of the structures supplementing the architecture and creating a natural link between the designed complex and nature, in particular by a significant bio-corridor of the Čierna Voda course. This means creation of a retention lawn, with a reduced elevation in comparison with the structures, creating natural surface retention areas. The garden architecture will sensitively create trajectories of undulated footpaths among the extensive greenery separated by stone gabions.

A dominant entry is designed for the four-storey Main Building, emphasized by an asymmetric frieze of the glass part represented by a large-scale entrance hall interconnected through the four storeys.

The CDVP structure has two storeys, with an above-ground functional floor with the highest degree of cleanliness and a technical floor above it. It is interconnected with the building of the Main Structure by a single-storey functional neck. The PET and GMP structures are solitary buildings; each of them has one above-the-ground functional storey and one technical storey above it.

Transport solutions:

The territory, where the Project is located, has an effective and above-standard transport connection. The structures in the SRC Complex will be only several minutes far by car from the centre of the city of Bratislava. The comfortable arrival to the territory will be ensured by a grade-separated highway exit consisting of roundabouts and access road.

The road representing the main entry way to the SRC territory is connected to the premises boundary by a system of roundabouts.

Both passenger and mass transport enter the territory through the exit from the roundabout. The transport solution considers the connection of the structure to the urban mass transportation structure, whose planned stops will be situated directly in front of the SRC area.

The area will be of course connected to the bicycle lanes, the network of which is currently under construction at the municipalities Bernolákovo, Chorvátsky Grob and Čierna Voda and will be interconnected with the premises of the Triblavina SRC Project.
